I am trying to get in the habit of using the stationary bike every day. At first Dave and I only exercised on Saturday and Sunday, he on the treadmill and me on the recumbent bike. Lazy Sunday

Grandkids,

Grandma and Grandpa Ruthenberg are being lazy today. It is very cold out here in Oklahoma. Almost as cold as it is in Michigan where you all live. They aren’t doing much except looking up things on the internet and making pizza. Every once in a while they check to see if I want to come out of my cage and hang out with them on the couch. Sometimes I do and sometimes I would rather stay in my cage. It is very cozy there. But I do like the weekends because both Grandma Deb and Grandpa Dave are here most of the time and I get to sit on the couch between them and watch TV with them.

Hope you kids are all having fun at your house.

Hello again, grandkids! This is Riley again. I wanted to share a video with you. I am one of the kinds of birds that likes to take a bath. For me the colder the water the better. I bet you kids don’t like cold water. But I do. I like to take a bath and have some water running down like a shower also. As you can see I like to flap my wings and get my armpits all clean. Then I let the water run down over my eyes and beak. How do you take a bath? Do you get your hair wet? Do you flap your arms to get everything wet? I don’t use soap because the soap would stick to my feathers and make me sick when I do my preening routine, which I will show you some other time. But I hear that soap is very good for humans.

I like Grandma and Grandpa Ruthie because they let me take a bath 3-4 times a week.

Hello Charly, Luke, Aydan, Peyten, and Natalie! My name is Riley. Grandma Ruthie asked me to send you updates periodically on life here in Oklahoma. She gets busy with work sometimes and she thought I could keep up with the blog for her. Plus she wanted me to specifically tell you kids what was going on and not the grownups.

First thing she wanted me to tell you all is that she had quite a lovely time in Michigan visiting with each of you. She particularly loved the hugs and kisses, but also liked talking with you and playing games.

But I missed her while she was gone. She usually lets me sit on her shoulder or on a perch on the desk while she works during the day. Grandpa Ruthie doesn’t always do that for me during the day. But I like to squawk real loud while he is taking his shower. I think I would like to take a shower, but Grandpa Ruthie says that the water is too hot.

Well, that is all for now. I will be sending you videos and pictures and sound files of me and Grandma and Grandpa. I hope you will enjoy this blog of mine.
